  1. Create an account at a domain name registrar
(if you don't already have one)
  2. Log in to the account and click on the "transfer domain" link
(or similarly named, depending on which registrar you use).
  3. Follow the instructions shown by your registrar - i.e. enter the domain name and UDAI into the relevant fields.
  4. Pay any transfer fees if necessary
(most NZ regisrars do not charge a fee for domain transfers).
  5. If you have entered the domain name and UDAI correctly then you should receive an acceptance email from your registrar within a day.

What is a UDAI?

UDAI stands for Unique Domain Authentication Identifier. It is a unique code of letters and numbers, like a password, which enables a domain name to be unlocked and transferred to a different account.

UDAIs are given to domain registrants when they first register their domain and a new one is automatically generated once the domain name has been transferred to a different entity.
